ISML 2009 ends today (at least the main tournament). Hinagiku has beaten Shana by 11 points once again upsetting the top seed. With that, Hinagiku is crowned the champion of ISML 2009. Congratulation Hinagiku! Shana had a good run here with this being her third loss for the entire year, but she couldn’t win where it mattered most. Read more…

X7 Senō Natsuru (KMPF) 709 1268 Sakurano Kurimu (SnI) Madrid

The runner-up of last year is eliminated. Tomoyo defeats Yuki limiting her only to 4th place. Next, she gets to take on Shana. Three characters remain in the tournament.

Taiga beats Kagami again. After a 3 point win in Best Moe, Taiga beats 3rd place of last year Kagami by less than 50. She finishes with 7th place while Kagami gets 8th.

Kurimu pounds that Kampfer girl by over 500 votes. In the exhibition match, Seno was no match for Kurimu. Can Kurimu become a contestant of ISML 2010? Looks possible, even with the reduction to 50 characters.

Next up: Elimination Round 6: Shana vs. Tomoyo, 5th place match: Fate vs. Kyou, other matches.

ISML 5th Round of Elimination

Picks:

ARENA 01: [Sakagami Tomoyo] Nagato Yuki

ARENA 02: Hiiragi Kagami [Aisaka Taiga]

ARENA 03: Kamio Misuzu [Index Prohibitorum]

ARENA 04: [Minase Nayuki] Chii

ARENA 05: Evangeline McDowell [Kawasumi Mai]

ARENA 06: [Hakurei Reimu] Louise Vallière

ARENA 07: [Kurata Sayuri] Yagami Hayate

ARENA 08: [Vita] Katagiri Yūhi

ARENA 09: [Misaka Mikoto] Tsukimiya Ayu

ARENA 10: Senō Natsuru [Sakurano Kurimu]

The end is near! Four characters remain. After this match, there will be only 3. Today, Tomoyo is up against Yuki, last year’s runner up.  Both were eliminated by Hinagiku who’s currently the only character not in the elimination matches. Whoever wins will be up against #1 Shana. Yuki has the advantage here, but I am going for Tomoyo.

For 7th place, we have a rematch of the Best Moe finals: Kagami vs. Taiga. Could Taiga pull off another win against Kagami, or will she avenge her 3 point loss. Going for Taiga for 7th place.

Lastly, we have our exhibition matchup between Seno and Kurimu. For me, this is one-sided since I am not watching Kampfer. Even if I did, I would probably go for Kurimu anyways. She is currently my favorite character that is new this season (The only new shows this season that I’m watching are Seitokai no Ichizon and Kobato. The rest are second seasons or spinoffs).

Anime Saimoe Championship Match- Taiga vs. Yui

Anime Saimoe Semifinals- Taiga vs. Nodoka

Result:

Taiga (Toradora!) 1077, Nodoka (Saki) 998

Nodoka has received 998 votes which would be the most votes received in the tournament to date if it wasn’t for the fact she lost. Nodoka couldn’t handle her 3rd straight Rie character as Taiga beats Nodoka with well over 1000 votes and advances to the finals. She could very well take Japan as she took Korea already. Again, Taiga for champion!

Outside note: I could also say that Taiga is better than both Nagi and Louise since she’s the only one of them to beat Nodoka. There’s two ways I can see if Taiga is better than Shana. Let them go against each other or have Nodoka go up against Shana. Of course this won’t happen.

Anime Saimoe Quarterfinals- Yui vs. Koromo

Result:

Yui (K-ON!) 873, Koromo (Saki) 819

KOROMO!

Yui defeats Koromo as expected. Congratulations to Yui for advancing to the semis. Also, congratulations to Koromo for keeping up with someone as powerful as Yui. Koromo was actually ahead of Yui for a short time and was able to give Yui a challenge. Too bad she’s out. I’ll miss her.

Saki-24-03

Although Yui eliminated Koromo, I will be cheering for Yui for her next match as she’s still fighting for Mio and Azusa. She’s still my 2nd favorite to win. Read more…
